Statement following the Council election results

West Van has voted for change with a new mayor, Kirk LaPointe, and three new councillors: Lee Lau, Tim Webb, and Jaime Webbe.

I am very grateful to have earned the trust of 3,664 electors, falling short of being elected by just 241 votes.

I'd like to congratulate all of the candidates — not just the winners — for their contribution to our local democracy.

I'd also like to thank everyone who donated, volunteered, or otherwise supported my campaign.

As I said during one of the debates — despite my British accent — I've made a lifelong commitment to this community.

I look forward to working with the new council on building a better West Van, fit for the future.
